L.A. The place known for Hollywood, Disneyland, and In-N-Out Burger. Having traveled to L.A, I can say with confidence that it is such a fun travel destination! If you’re about ready to venture west to the famous city and are wanting to find things to do in Los Angeles to fill a weekend in L.A, then you clicked the right article. Here’s my top 5 plans for your next trip to L.A.

#1. Informative Things to Do in Los Angeles: Hollywood Tour

You can’t go to L.A without seeing Beverly Hills. What better way than to book a Hollywood tour that takes you to some of the homes of your favorite celebs! There are plenty to choose from, but I would suggest booking the Starline Tours of celebrity homes.

Not only do you get to see celebrity homes but you also get to see iconic places such as the Hollywood sign, TCL Chinese Theatre and The Sunset Strip.  If you’re interested in things to do in Los Angeles that involve Beverly Hills, seeing homes such as Katy Perry’s, Bruno Mars, and more, then this two hour tour is the tour for you!

Fun Fact: The TCL Chinese Theatre hosted the Academy Awards from 1944-1946

#2. Tasty Things to Do in Los Angeles: In-N-Out Burger

I’m sure many of you are not surprised that In-N-Out burger made the list. You may be wondering why it made the list as it is certainly not a secret fast food chain in L.A. But while the chain itself may not be secret, there is a secret menu that you need to try!

Here’s what I would suggest to try:

  1. Order a Cheeseburger Animal Style

While animal style is not technically part of their secret menu, it is a must-try item. If you are a fan of the classic fry sauce (thousand island dressing taste but better) then definitely order your burger animal style!

  1. Order Their Secret Neapolitan Shake

In-N-Out Burger has many delicious shake flavors and keeps it simple: Chocolate, vanilla, or strawberry. Why pick one when you can have all 3?

2. Order a Root Beer Float

This classic diner drink can be ordered by simply asking for it or ordering a vanilla milkshake with added root beer.

3. Order a Grilled Cheese.

Yes, you heard me right. In-N-Out has a secret vegetarian item that you can order that is sure to be ooey-gooey and delicious.

4. Order a Cheeseburger Protein-Style (Lettuce Wrap Bun)

If you are looking to cut back on carbs, then ordering your In-N-Out Burger protein style (meaning with a lettuce bun instead of a bread bun) is the order for you!

#3. Healthy Things to Do in Los Angeles: Try THE Avocado Toast Spot

If you’re looking to eat a little bit lighter on your trip to LA, then you definitely need to try L.A’s avocado toast. Located in Los Angeles, there is a particularly delicious avocado toast spot…Sqirl. Sqirl cafe is home to one of the best avocado toasts. The toast features whipped garlic crème fraîche scallion, hot pickled carrots, scallions & house za’atar on homemade country bread. You can even add a fried egg for even more deliciousness.

If avocado toasts is one of your favorites and you’re looking for a unique souvenir from your Los Angeles trip, view my Los Angeles recipe towel for the perfect avocado toast recipe that is sure to be a conversation starter in your kitchen!

P.S. If you are vegan, Sqirl cafe offers a vegan avocado toast option as well :)

#4. Magical Things to Do in Los Angeles: Go to Disneyland

Now…I know what some of you may be thinking, “Disneyland is in Anaheim California and you’re focusing solely on “things to do in Los Angeles” and you’re correct. However, being that Anaheim is very close to Los Angeles, it can certainly be a destination to visit when you go to L.A. When going to Disneyland, I have a few tips when traveling there that will have you ready for your next trip!

1. Cars Land in Disneyland Is Definitely Worth The Hype

If you love the Disney movie Cars as much as I do, then Cars Land in Disneyland is a pit stop you’ll want to make. Disneyland architects definitely nailed it when designing Cars Land. It truly feels like you have stepped into Radiator Springs (complete with details from the movie such as Flo’s cafe). Not only are the buildings replicas of Radiator Springs, but the landscape atmosphere is truly amazing. Red Rocks are in the background of the buildings and for a moment you forget you are still in California, instead feeling like you are alongside Route 66 in Arizona.

2. Pictures on the Boardwalk

Disneyland pier

One of the first things that comes to mind when I think of Disneyland is the view from the pier: the water, Pixar Pier, and the Mickey Ferris Wheel. A lot of people look to capture this picture, but the question is where? Look no farther than eating at Lamplight Lounge: complete with perfect views of the famous pier to capture after eating.

Pro Tip: Lamplight Lounge offers dinner, the perfect time to get gorgeous sunset pictures of the peer!

3. The Hollywood Tower Hotel

This tip fits more into my theme of things to do in Los Angeles…considering that Hollywood is in the title. One of Disneyland’s most famous rides, The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, is a classic ride you can’t miss at Disneyland. The ride is still very popular among Disney enthusiasts since it opened 30 years ago, or…maybe I should add it has been haunted for over 30 years!

#5. Unique Things to Do in Los Angeles: Go to the Wax Museum

Ever wonder what it would be like to take a picture with your favorite celebrity? Now you can snap the perfect selfie that is sure to trick some of your friends into thinking that you got to meet celebrities such as Dwayne Johnson! Madame Tussauds Hollywood is the perfect place to spend an afternoon having fun snapping pics with your friends while posing with the wax figures.

Conclusion

So there you have it…5 things to do in Los Angeles. Whether you're feeling touristy, adventurous, wanting to do something unique, or eat something tasty, I have detailed the perfect plan for you. L.A is a huge city but it doesn’t have to be stressful when planning. If you complete the items on my list you’re sure to have a great time and make many lasting memories to come!
